If you are exploring and happen upon something that looks archaeologically relevant, DON’T PICK IT UP! :) An artifact is most scientifically valuable according to its provenience and orientation! That means that so much of what makes an artifact special is its relation to the other artifacts around it and the strata it was found in. Report the artifact, but don’t pick it up and take it. If you do, the object will be rendered almost entirely, scientifically useless.
